Welcome to Boulder Hut

For more than 35 years, backcountry skiers have enjoyed touring at the Boulder Hut. Steep tree skiing, open cirques, gentle glades and of course, deep Purcell powder are what you'll find with us. We've made improvements to the hut since this was filmed in 2011 (and Grace and Alden have grown like weeds, check them out now), but it gives you a good overview of what you can experience during your adventure with us.

Truly one of the top 10 experiences of my life!! Beautiful area, great skiing, wonderful people, great food! Thanks so much to all. I will be back to the Boulder Hut!

want to Go Rad? you can do it here

In January 2014, the Bomb Snow Team heli'd into the Boulder Hut to enjoy a full week of fantastic skiing, lodging and camaraderie. While most of our groups opt for less extreme terrain, this short film gives you a sense of what's possible within our varied 15,000-acre ski tenure through the lens of talented filmmaker Axel Peterson.

Challenge your limits in terrain for all abilities

This well-produced video by Boulder Hut Adventures guest Scott Rulander illustrates that we have terrain for all skiing abilities and that under the leadership of our certified guides our guests have the opportunity to enjoy challenging their (perceived) limits safely and within their own comfort zones.

I don’t want to leave! You have a sweet set up here. Who knew touring could be a five star experience! Food, accommodations and guides were faultless. It felt like home away from home. I will be back!

don't try this at home

Mark opens with a nice summary of our hut philosophy. Then some big lines and big air. Nice job Axel Peterson and team! Stoked to spend another week with the Bomb Snow TV crew!

Parents, want a little inspiration? The Adventure Journal called Mark and Sarah Yancey "the most awesome parents in the history of parenting" in describing this short film.

A big thanks to talented filmmaker Sam Davies of Three Peaks Media who produced the film and shot the video footage in March 2016.

Meet the Most Awesome Parents in the History of Parenting. The Yancey kids are growing up in a B.C. backcountry hut. Yes, it’s exactly as cool as you think it would be.
